Sexual offense accusations, how we handle them…

Any person that is accused of inappropriate sexual conduct of any nature, whether a child or adult, is terrifying, embarrassing, stigmatizing and has a wide range of negative consequences and issues to deal with long before any adjudication of guilt.  While a large percentage of such accusations have merit and at least some foundation in the truth, it is not uncommon for the innocent to be accused.  As an attorney accepting and handling sex offense cases, I have had the horrible responsibility of representing persons who are innocent and wrongfully accused more often than not. And, while the stress of representing an innocent accused is great, we know that the stress is 10 times for the person wrongfully accused

No matter what the Constitution presumes, the world and the system look at you and treat you as guilty until proven innocent when accused of a sex crime.  While being a successful  trial attorney in sex offense trials, most cases are won early through aggressive representation and a thorough exhaustion of legal remedies, making the government comply with all due process including the disclosure of relevant discovery .  Many times motions specific to sexual accusation cases are necessary to file.  A thorough interview process, important in every case, is conducted here as well.    Otherwise, we fight vigorously to protect and humanize the client to offset the stigma and consequences of the accusation, while formulating a defense to achieve a success for the case.  We do not give up.  If you are accused of a sexual offense do not hesitate in calling the office at 505-247-9500 for a free consultation.  This post is for informational purposes and does not create an attorney-client relationship.  Should have any questions do not hesitate to consult an attorney.
