Jason M. Alarid, Attorney At Law
Jason M. Alarid is a jury trial attorney who has successfully litigated thousands of matters and completed hundreds of trials. Having graduated from the University of New Mexico Law School, Mr. Alarid has over 20 years in practice, and is recognized for his exceptional performance and is listed as one of New Mexico’s Criminal Law 10 Best Criminal Law Attorneys for Client Satisfaction. He has developed the respect of his peers with his frequent victories in a wide variety of cases in both the criminal and civil arenas.
Practicing in New Mexico metro, municipal, magistrate, and district courts as well as the United States Federal District Court, the United States Appeals Court for the Tenth Circuit, and before the international courts. Since 2007 he has practiced before the International War Crimes Tribunal at The Hague, Netherlands where he recently defended General Ratko Mladic and previously defended Private Milan Lukic. Mr. Alarid is one of only 26 American lawyers to appear before the International Criminal Tribunal Court.
As part of Mr. Alarid’s international legal practice, he is counsel in good standing before the MICT - The Residual Mechanism of the International Tribunals, and the Special Criminal Tribunal for Lebanon. Mr. Alarid is currently assigned legal consultant for the matter of The Prosecutor v. General Ratko Mladic before the International War Crimes Tribunals, ICTY/MICT.
Mr. Alarid is a graduate of the renowned Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyers College in 1999, and continued participating on staff as a skills instructor, instructing attorneys on winning techniques for jury trial presentations, voir dire, opening statements, direct and cross examinations, and closing statement.
Mr. Alarid is the founder of JMA Law Offices specializing in state, local, and federal criminal defense. These areas include homicide, vehicular homicide, child and adult sexual conduct offenses, violent offenses, DWI / DUI, domestic violence, drug offenses, fraud, embezzlement and fish and wildlife enforcement hunting cases.
